Dental Bridges
What Are Dental Bridges?
Dental bridges are porcelain restorations that are supported by adjacent teeth or implants. A bridge can replace one tooth or several teeth.
Dental bridges restore functionality, making it easier to talk and chew again. Dental bridges can even go a long way toward preventing further tooth loss and misalignment. Because this dental procedure restores your smile, you may feel more confident.
Why Patients Choose Us for Dental Bridges
We have served the Fairfax community and surrounding areas for nearly 40 years, earning a reputation for excellent dental treatment that continues today. We use advanced x-ray technology and other tools to provide comprehensive services with exceptional results. That means if you elect to receive an implant-supported bridge, you won't need to be referred elsewhere.
Our dentists look forward to helping you rebuild your smile.
Which Dental Bridge Is Right for Me?
Traditional Bridge
A traditional bridge consists of two dental crowns that fit over the teeth on either side of the gap in your smile. The crowns support artificial teeth, called pontics, that replace the missing teeth.
Maryland Bridges
If you have one missing tooth but are hesitant about removing tooth enamel from the adjacent teeth, a Maryland bridge might be a better alternative for you. This bridge is a prosthetic tooth with metal attachments that are cemented to the backs of the adjacent teeth.
Cantilever Bridge
If you have one missing tooth, one adjacent tooth may be able to support the pontic in a cantilever bridge. This dentistry treatment is usually used to replace a missing front tooth.
Implant-Supported Dental Bridge
An implant-supported bridge is supported by dental implants rather than crowns. This is a good option for people with localized tooth loss, meaning you're missing two or more teeth in a row. You will first have to undergo in-office surgery with one of our dentists to have titanium dental implants placed that can support the bridge. Our Fairfax, VA, office offers sedation options to help you feel more comfortable during the implant procedure. A bridge will then be made to replace your lost teeth.
How Much Does a Dental Bridge Cost?
Dental insurance typically contributes to the cost of dental bridges, but if you don't have insurance, we accept CareCredit® financing that allows you to pay in affordable monthly installments.
If you choose to receive an implant-supported bridge, it is important to understand that basic insurance policies do not contribute to the cost of dental implants. Our staff can help you explore the option of financing dental implants if you want to take advantage of that option.
